ELLIPSE MACH 2 CHRONOGRAPH AUTOMATIC SWISSMADE
2469 km/hour is Mach 2, twice the speed of the sound!
It was the speed at which I was flying in the legendary Concorde in the year 2000 to go to New York. I looked through the porthole and I realized that, at that precise moment, the surface of the earth was not spherical anymore but formed as a very beautiful ellipse. I therefore let my imagination and my pencil draw an elliptical case and a dial retracing the ellipse of the Concorde’s flight instruments at 6 o’clock. Now, the Restrepo Ellipse Mach 2 Chrono model is the result of more than 20 years of research.

about federico restrepo
Born in Bogota, Colombia in 1962, Restrepo’s cosmopolitan background is atypical in the professional world of design. His family heritage (Federico is the great-grandson of Henri Paul Nenot, founder of the new Sorbonne, builder of the nation’s pavilion in Geneva, the Grand Prix de Rome Academician of Arts and Letters, and the grandson of Hervé Baille painter of the Navy, humorist, and watercolorist) should have led him immediately to creation. However, he chose to follow master program as a philosopher at the Sorbonne while pursuing creation work in painting, furniture, and more. From his father and mother, he inherits a taste of culture, having been raised in a very selected circle of artists from Colombia such as Fernando Botero, and Gabriel Garcia Marques.
